Windsor, ON – The St. Clair College Department of Athletics and Recreation will be announcing all its varsity team awards and major award winners online starting on July 27. The Saints had postponed their annual athletic awards banquet in the spring with the intent to reschedule the event later in the summer. However, due to the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic the department and college administration have made the decision to reveal all award winners online with the health and safety for all student athletes, coaches and staff guiding the decision-making process. The winners will be presented with their awards later in the fall once it is safe to do so.
All award winners will be announced on the Saints Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts according to the following schedule. Team Award winners will be declared from July 27-30 while the Major Award winners will be publicized on August 4th and 5th.

“After one of our most successful seasons ever we had really hoped to recognize all of our coaches, student-athletes and staff in person after postponing our original athletic awards banquet,” stated Director of Athletics and Recreation, Christina Gatto. “However, we felt we did not want to wait any longer to do so and therefore we have decided to honour all of our amazing winners on our social medial accounts instead.”
This past season the Saints earned 8 OCAA provincial medals and 2 CCAA national medals. Both the men’s and women’s indoor soccer teams could have easily added to that total as both teams had advanced to the final four at the OCAA Championships before the event was cancelled due to the COVID 19 pandemic midway through the event championship.
