Men’s Baseball Host 2024 Home Opener Weekend
Tecumseh, ON – The 3-time defending OCAA Champion St. Clair College Men's Baseball team host their 2024 Home Opener Weekend Saturday and Sunday at Lacasse Park in Tecumseh. The Saints (2-0) started their regular season last weekend with a pair of wins in Sault Ste. Marie but are looking forward to hosting OCAA games at the newly refurbished Lacasse Park in front of a home crowd.
St. Clair will meet George Brown College (Toronto) on Saturday in a doubleheader with game times set for 4:00pm/6:00pm and finish the weekend against Sheridan College (Brampton) on Sunday at 1:00pm/3:00pm. Both visiting teams are looking for their first wins of the season having started 0-2 so far.
2023 OCAA Men's Baseball Coach of the Year Roberto Duncan returns OCAA Rookie of the Year in RHP/OF Tyler Brown-Amlin (Windsor, ON/Sandwich) as well as the OCAA Batting Champion in 4th Year C Henry Real (Panama City, Panama). Brown-Amlin (First Team) and Real (Second-Team) were both OCAA All-Stars in 2023. 2nd year OF Mitch McCosh (Belle River, ON/Belle River) was also an OCAA First-Team All-Star and an All-Rooke team selection in 2023 while 3rd Year RHP Cody Moore (LaSalle, ON/Sandwich) and 4th Year 1B Colin Robinson (Windsor, ON/Kennedy) were OCAA Second-Team members.
The other St. Clair returning players are 3rd Year RHP/OF Spencer Morin (LaSalle, ON/St. Thomas of Villanova) 2nd Year P Brady Knelsen (Leamington, ON/Leamington), 2nd Year C Andrew Langlois (LaSalle, ON/St. Thomas of Villanova), 2nd Year OF Owen Levesque (Windsor, ON/St. Joseph's), 2nd Year RHP Braydin Metcalfe (Essex, ON/Essex) 4th Year IF Josh Anderson (Ajax, ON/Ajax), 2nd Year 3B/1B Kanaan Gale (Leamington, ON/Cardinal Carter), 3rd INF Joshua Hudvagner (Essex, ON/Essex) and 4th Year RHP Brock Whitson (Chatham, ON/Ursuline).
The Saints welcomed new recruits in 2024 which include local standouts RHP Cameron Beale (LaSalle, ON/Sandwich), RHP Michael Grondin (Windsor, ON/Riverside), LHP Jonas Le Clair (Windsor, ON/Holy Names) and IF/OF Finnigan Russett (Windsor, ON/Holy Names). Out of town additions include LHP/CF Jake Heinbuch (Stratford, ON/St. Michael), 1B/3B Cole Saros (Toronto, ON/Monarch Park) and INF Jordan Miller (Kitchener, ON/Resurrection). Transfer pickups were 3rd Year OF Andrew Sleiman (Leamington, ON/Cardinal Carter), 2nd Year OF Rowan Glasgow (LaSalle, ON/Sandwich) and 2nd Year INF Adrian Harrison (Cottam, ON/Essex) as well as former Panamanian professional player in RHP Gerardo Abrego (Panama City, Panama).
