Women's Softball Sweep Sheridan in Mississauga

Mississauga, ON – The St. Clair College Women's Softball team moved their record to 5-1 with a pair of wins over Sheridan College (Brampton) at Quenippenon Meadows Park in Mississauga Saturday afternoon.  The Saints won the opener 13-9 in comeback fashion before topping the Bruins 11-1 in the final game.

In game one the Saints were down 5-0 after the 5th inning but stormed back with a 9-run 6th to overtake the home team.  St. Clair added four more runs in the 7th to outlast Sheridan as Judy Lafleur (Essex, ON/Essex) had three hits and scored two runs to lead the Saints offensively.  Danna Juarez (Airdrie, AB) and Ashley Marchand (Fergus, ON) each also had two hits for St. Clair in win.

St. Clair used that momentum in game two and needed just five innings to secure the mercy as Lafleur, Reese Grondin (LaSalle, ON/St. Thomas of Villanova), Kamryn Coombs (Atwood, ON) and Brooke Cameron (Rimbey, AB) each had two hits for the Saints.

St. Clair finishes the weekend GTA road trip with a doubleheader against Humber College in Etobicoke on Sunday starting at 1pm.
