Women's Softball Win Round Robin Games in North York

North York, ON – The St. Clair College Women's Softball team picked up a pair of wins on Saturday in North York as part of OCAA round robin league play hosted at Seneca Polytechnic.  The Saints (9-3) took a 7-0 win over host Seneca and followed it up with an 8-2 victory over Conestoga.

In the second game St. Clair scored three runs in the 3rd and 5th innings before taking an 8-0 lead in the 6th.  Conestoga put up two runs in the 6th but that was the end of the scoring.  Kamryn Coombs (Atwood, ON) was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate for the Saints including a double and an RBI.  Judy Lafleur (Essex, ON/Essex) hit three singles and scored a run while Ada Umerah (Maple, ON) smashed a 2-run homer as part of her 3-hit and 3-RBI game for St. Clair.  Kirsten Kipfer (Mitchell, ON) pitched five scoreless innings for the Saints to earn her 3rd win of the season giving up just 3 hits and a walk but fanned 8 batters.

St. Clair took the initial game via forfeit as Seneca suffered to many injuries in their previous round robin game to field a lineup.

St. Clair finishes the weekend road trip with two games in Oshawa on Sunday against host Durham College and Lambton College (Sarnia).
