Women's Softball Advance to OCAA Final Four

Oshawa, ON – The St. Clair College Women's Softball team won 6-0 over Sheridan College (Brampton) Thursday afternoon allowing them to advance into the final four teams at the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association Provincial Championship tournament being hosted by Durham College in Oshawa.

The Saints scored twice in the opening frame and added a single in the 2nd inning before completing the scoring with a 3-run 4thJudy Lafleur (Essex, ON/Essex) was a force earning Player of the Game honours for the Saints going 4-for-4 at the plate including a triple driving in three runs and scored twice.  Ashley Marchand (Fergus, ON) had a double and a triple for St. Clair finishing with two RBI adding a run scored.  Danna Juarez (Airdrie, AB) threw a complete game 7-inning shutout claiming the pitching win for the Saints giving up just two hits and a walk but struck-out four Sheridan batters. 

St. Clair will now move on to play Humber Polytechnic (Etobicoke) on Friday at 1:30pm who is the #2 seed in the championship.  Conestoga College (Kitchener) advanced into the final four after beating Fanshawe College (London) 12-4 in the other play-in game and will face #1 seed Durham at 11:00am.  All games are being held at Ken Babcock Field on the campus of Durham College and details for the event including live stream links can be found at https://ocaachampionships.prestosports.com/championships/soft/2024-25/index
