Football Dominant in Statement Win Over London
Windsor, ON – The St. Clair College Football team moved to 6-0 on the season when they crushed their rival London 68-0 in what was the last regular season home game at Acumen Stadium. The Saints have now outscored opponents 376-14 in their 6 games.
Complete dominance on both sides of the ball saw the Saints tally a jaw dropping 638 yards of total offense, while the defense only allowed 138 yards to the Beefeaters. The offense was once again led by QB Maurice Sodja (Louisville, Kentucky) who threw for 302 passing yards and was the games leading rusher with 80 yards on the ground. Sodja also accounted for 5 total touchdowns. Wideout Cameron St. Kitts-Park (Oshawa, ON) scored 2 more touchdowns to add to his season total of 9 but not as a receiver this game. Kitts-Park threw a 31-yard touchdown pass on a designed trick play; he then returned the 2nd half kick-off for a 100-yard touchdown. Wide Receiver Darius France (Windsor, ON) had a huge night having 176 receiving yards on 8 receptions and a touchdown. Quarterback Matt Guenette (Windsor, ON) had a near perfect night completing 11 of 12 passes for 138 yards, he also added a passing and rushing touchdown. Other touchdown receptions were caught by; Tai Colquhoun (Windsor, ON), Malachi Jackson (Windsor, ON), Dayshawn Johnson (Niagara, ON), Alex MacLellan (Lasalle, ON), and Riley Sagriff (Kingston, ON).
The Saints defense who posted their 4th shutout in 6 games on the season put together another impressive night, accounting for 3 sacks and 12 tackles for losses. Defensive End Jaylin Burnett (South St. Paul, Minnesota) registered 3 tackles and 3 tackles for losses and a half of a sack. Linebacker Ryan Najim (Leamington, ON) had himself another big night accounting for 3 solo tackles, 2 assisted tackles, 2 tackles and a sack.
Up next for the Saints is the long bus trip to the nations capital where they will take on the Ottawa Sooners next Saturday, September 28th at 7:00pm.
