Golf Team's Place Second

(Shanty Bay, ON) The St. Clair College golf teams played in their final invitational of the season on Monday at Heritage Hills Golf Club taking part in the Georgian Grizzlies Invitational and had another solid outing.

The St. Clair women came in second place with a total of 157 (13 over par) one stroke behind the Humber Hawks.  Alyssa Cowling (Oldcastle; Villanova) had another great day coming in second individually with a score of 6 over par 78 while teammate Justine Gorham (Amherstburg; L'Essor) was just behind her shotting a 7 over 79.

The St. Clair men 's team also came in second place (23 over par) behind Humber. The Saints were led by and Simon Moir (London; St. Thomas Aquinas) who shot a 2 over par 74 ending up in second place in the individual standings. For the men's team competition five golfers play with the top four scores counting.

The St. Clair Golf team is currently ranked 3rd in Canada.

The Saints will now begin preparing for the OCAA Championship being host by Georgian College at the Barrie Country Club from September 30 to October 2.
