Golf Team Adds Top Local Recruit

(Windsor, ON) The St. Clair College Department of Athletics and the varsity golf program is pleased to announce the signing of men's golfer Dayne Bensette.

Bensette is from Windsor and is graduating from Belle River Distract High School this spring. Dayne will be enrolled in the three year Sport & Recreation Management program.  

Bensette has a very extensive competitive golf background including the Jamieson Golf Tour, several Golf Ontario and Golf Canada events along with several events in the United States. Dayne recently won the WECSSAA individual title.

Dayne is looking forward to being a part of Saints Nation after entertaining offers at the NCAA level. "I am super honoured and thrilled to be joining the St Clair Golf Men's Team next year. Their recent success as a program and how comfortable I felt with the players on the team was a big factor for me. The outstanding coaching staff along with the excellent education gives me the opportunity to develop my skills both on and off the course. "

The St. Clair men's team won their first ever OCAA Team Gold medal this past fall and had a 4th place finish at Nationals.

Head Coach Kevin Corriveau is excited to add to Bensette to his roster. " I am very excited to add Dayne to our 2025/2026 golf team. He brings great tournament experience and a mature positive attitude and work ethic to our squad. He will also be a perfect fit with the current team, a few of whom are friends that he has competed against in our local junior and provincial tours."
