Men’s Basketball Successful in Montreal
Montreal, QC – The St. Clair College Men's Basketball team won three games this past weekend in Montreal at the Joel Tyrell Classic hosted by Dawson College. The Saints beat Vanier College (St. Laurent) 89-45 on Friday and then outpaced host Dawson 81-58 on Saturday before completing the perfect weekend by outlasting Montmorency (Laval, QC) by a score of 75-70 on Sunday at Vanier.
Amari Frye (Ypsilanti, MI) had a game high 21 points off the bench to lead St. Clair in the Friday win over Vanier and was the only Saint in double figures. Darnelle Peddie (Pickering, ON) netted 11 points in Saturday's win over Dawson as teammates Kyle Brown-Fazekas (Windsor, ON/Kennedy) and Elijah Loder-Frame (Toronto, ON) each chipped in with 10 points apiece for the Saints. Brown-Fazekas led St. Clair with 21 points in the Sunday morning win over Montmorency as Jacob Masters (Toronto, ON) reached double figures with 12 points in reserve time.
St. Clair opens their OCAA West Division regular season at home on Friday against Conestoga College (Kitchener) with tip time at 8:00pm in the SportsPlex.
