Men’s Basketball Rise Above Fanshawe

Windsor, ON – The St. Clair College Men's Basketball team moved their unbeaten record to 6-0 after a convincing 99-59 win over Fanshawe College (London) Saturday afternoon at the SportsPlex. The Saints remain atop the West Division standings as the top-rated team in the province and the #1 squad in the national rankings.

St. Clair used consistent shooting and a suffocating defense throughout the game which allowed them to quickly move ahead 29-13 after the first quarter.  The Saints extended their lead to 51-27 by halftime which included some highlight reel dunks and never left their foot off the gas in the second half easily winning the third quarter for a 77-43 headed to the fourth. 

St. Clair shot 52% from the floor throughout and made 12 triples in the contest while dishing out an impressive 26 assists as a team.  The defense forced 34 Fanshawe turnovers and the Saints scored 49 points off those thefts while the difference in the score allowed them to record 42 reserve points. 

Jacob Masters (Toronto, ON) led St. Clair with 24 points and made 6 triples to go with 4 assists.  Mazin Tiea (Windsor, ON/Kennedy) had 10 of his 13 points in the first half for the Saints and added 6 rebounds along with 3 blocked shots.  Amari Frye (Ypsilanti, MI) chipped in with 11 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals off the bench for St. Clair. 

St. Clair continues their regular season schedule at home next weekend hosting Mohawk College (Hamilton) Friday night and then Niagara College (Welland) Saturday afternoon at the SportsPlex.
