Men's Basketball Gain Transfer Help
Windsor, ON – The St. Clair College Men's Basketball team gained some additional help from transfers Ergie Kougnami (Windsor, ON/ E.J. Lajeunesse) and Brandon Harmon (Milwaukee, WI/ Golda Meir) who each join the Saints starting in 2025.
Harmon is a 6'6" guard and averaged 17.0 PPG at Milwaukee's Golda Meir High School which earned himself an opportunity at Cabrillo College (Aptos, CA). He spent two years at Cabrillo and nearly averaged double figures in scoring (9.0 PPG) his final season with over five rebounds per game in 2021-22. Harmon helped Cabrillo to the CCCAA NorCal playoffs and received all-defensive honors and while shooting .497 in his two years at the junior college. He then moved on to the University of California-Merced (Merced, CA) playing a season as a reserve at the NAIA level in 2023-24.
In the classroom Harmon will be studying Computer Programming.
Saints Co-Head Coach Brendon Seguin is certain Harmon will make an impact stating, "We are very excited to add Brandon to the program. He is someone who checks a lot of boxes in what we were looking to improve heading into the season. His length and athleticism will give us great versatility on the wing which we lacked last season."
Seguin continued, "Brandon can score from all three levels and can create opportunities for everyone on the floor with his understanding of the game. Defensively, he will be leaned on heavily to match-up with the opposition's best scorers while having the versatility to switch onto anyone on the floor."
Kougnami is 6'3" swing player who after starring locally at E.J. Lajeunesse played the last two years at Missouri State University-West Plains (West Plains, MO) in the NJCAA and started all 31 games his final season averaging 8.4 PPG and 4.6 RPG in 2024-25.
Academically Kougnami begins this fall in St. Clair's Border Services program.
Seguin commended Kougnami saying, "We are thrilled to add Ergie who is another local recruit for the program this fall. His athleticism and competitiveness will add tremendous value to the team."
Seguin finished "Offensively Ergie can play above the rim and is very good in the open floor. His offensive game has plenty of potential for growth. Defensively Ergie, will bring physicality and toughness. He brings great energy to the defensive end of the floor and will be relied on in many different capacities."
