Bio

Deerr is a Whitby, ON native and began working with the St. Clair Men’s Basketball program in 2024 immediately following an accomplished OCAA playing career including four years for the Saints after a season at Durham College (Oshawa). 

In four years, Deerr helped the Saints to a 94-32 overall record (.746 Win %).  Over that span St. Clair was 51-14 in the regular season (.785 Win %) which led to a pair of West Division titles before Deerr was a part of 13 playoff wins.  He won provincial and national Silver in 2021-22 in addition to an OCAA Championship Gold Medal at the end of the 2022-23 season. 

Deerr finished 8^th on the Saints All-Time career scoring list with 1,628 points but his outside shooting prowess allowed him to become the record holder for 3-point makes in a game (9) and the record holder for 3-point makes in a career at 306 for St. Clair.  He was recognized further as the 2021-22 OCAA West Division Sixth Man of the Year and as an OCAA West Division Second-Team All-Star in 2023-24 in addition to a pair of St. Clair Coaches Awards (2019-20 & 2023-24).  Deerr averaged 12.7ppg in 73 regular season games and nearly reached 1,000-point plateau finishing with a 13.5ppg tally overall in 121 career games for the green and gold. 

Academically Deerr graduated from St. Clair’s Sport and Recreation Management program and was a 2-time OCAA All-Academic performer but was honoured as a 2023-24 CCAA Academic All-Canadian recipient. 

In his final year Deerr won the Mason MacDonald Award which is presented to the graduating student-athletes who have displayed outstanding athletic abilities while maintaining exemplary academic performance and school involvement during their years at St. Clair College.
