Women’s Basketball Fall at Home to Lambton

Windsor, ON – The St. Clair College Women's Basketball team were unable to stop Lambton College (Sarnia) Wednesday night at the SportsPlex dropping a 78-64 decision.  The Saints fall to 4-8 on the season and sit 6th in the OCAA's West Division.

St. Clair had a slow start giving up the first 12 points of the game and trailed 32-17 after the first quarter.  The Saints responded well in the second to shrink the deficit to 42-40 by halftime after making four long balls in the frame.  A few minutes into the third quarter St. Clair overtook the visitors 45-44 but then gave up a 12-0 run that changed the direction of the outcome.  Lambton built as much as 20-point lead down the stretch as the Saints struggled to convert from long distance.

The Saints outscored Lambton 25-4 in bench production but surrendered 27 points off 22 turnovers and were outrebounded 40-30 in the contest.

St. Clair's Kaelyn Batten (LaSalle, ON/St. Thomas of Villanova) scored a team-high 20 points to go with 5 rebounds and 4 assists.  Shae-lyn Murphy (Windsor, ON/Holy Names) finished with 8 points, 3 rebounds and 8 assists for the Saints.

St. Clair continues their regular season schedule on the road Saturday facing Fanshawe College in London.
