Women’s Basketball Cap Regular Season with Win

Windsor, ON – The St. Clair College Women's Basketball team (6-10) finished their regular season Saturday night at the SportsPlex with a strong second half earning a 79-50 win over Redeemer University (Ancaster) and secured 6th Place in the West Division.

Redeemer was able to control the scoreboard early and the Saints didn't assume the lead until midway through the first quarter.  St. Clair overtook the Royals and held a 21-11 advantage heading to the second.  The teams played even in the second frame as St. Clair amassed a 36-26 halftime cushion.  The game was decided in the third quarter as the Saints made five triples while holding the visitors to just a pair of field goals and increased the margin to 60-33 heading to the fourth.  St. Clair led by as much as 33 points (73-40) a few minutes into the final period and even a 10-point run by Redeemer didn't prevent the lopsided outcome.

The Saints were able to score 22 points after forcing 25 Redeemer turnovers while sharing the ball well for a season high 27 assists.  St. Clair also outscored Redeemer 47-12 off the bench while making 12 from distance.
