Murphy Named OCAA Women’s Basketball Second-Team All-Star
Windsor, ON – The OCAA Women's Basketball League Awards were released Thursday and 4th year guard Shae-lyn Murphy (Windsor, ON/Holy Names) was the lone St. Clair player included for recognition.
Murphy earned OCAA West Division Second-Team All-Star honours after leading the Saints with 6.7 rebounds per game (OCAA 17th) and 4.3 assists per game (OCAA 3rd) while ranking top 20 in provincial scoring at 11.0 per contest. She also spent very little time on the bench averaging over 37 minutes per game in the regular season while hitting the 12th most triples in league play with 25 total makes.
This was Murphy's second All-Star nod having achieved the same status in the 2022-23 season and she finishes her time at St. Clair as the 13th leading scorer in program history with 896 career points.
The Saints (6-11) ended their season last weekend in Belleville with a 61-60 loss to Loyalist College in the crossover playoff game which was the first time since the 2012-13 season that they finished outside of the top eight OCAA teams.
