Women's Basketball Land Brantford’s Banting

Windsor, ON – The St. Clair College Women's Basketball team is pleased to land the commitment of Erin Banting (Brantford, ON/ Assumption College) to the Saints in preparation for the 2026-27 season.

Banting stands an impressive 6'0" and will strengthen the forward position for St. Clair over the next four years as she will be enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program beginning this fall.  She is multi-sport athlete having competed in Volleyball and Badminton as well as helping Assumption College to a Central Western Ontario Secondary Schools Association Basketball Championship in 2024-25.  Banting also won the last two Athletic Association of Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk Counties Basketball titles for Assumption College to go with a JUEL PREP Championship in 2023-2024 with the Hamilton Yellow Jackets at the club level.

As an Honour Roll student at Assumption College, she was also recognized as the Junior Athlete of the Year, Senior Basketball Lion Award recipient and was named team captain this past season.

St. Clair Head Coach Andy Kiss lauded Banting stating, "Erin fills a definite need in our roster at the post position as she will be effective at both ends of the floor.  We're excited to see what she will bring to our squad beginning this fall.  She has an outstanding pedigree with her experience in the JUEL League with the Hamilton Yellow Jackets as well as her experience in her role with Brantford Assumption at the high school level."
