The St. Clair women's volleyball team travelled to the GTA area this weekend to begin their second semester schedule and came home with a split.
On Saturday, St. Clair was in Etobicoke to take on the top ranked Humber Hawks and suffered a hard fought 3-1 loss. Set scores for Humber were 19-25, 25-16, 30-28, and 25-20.
With the win Humber improved their record 13-0. Humber is ranked 1st Ontario and 4th in Canada.
Outside hitter Brianne Hobbin (Guelph; Centennial CVI) had a solid game with 7 kills, 3 stuff blocks and 16 digs.
On Sunday afternoon, the Saints were in Oakville to take on the Sheridan Bruins and came away with a convincing 3-0 win. Set scores for St. Clair were 25-17, 26-24 and 25-15. With the loss Sheridan's record fell to 1-12.
Middle Geneva Huisman (Amherstburg; Maranatha Christian Academy) led the way for the Saints with 9 kills, 3 service aces and 2 stuff blocks.
With the weekend split the St. Clair women are now 11-2 on the season with both losses coming to Humber. The Saints are currently ranked 2nd in Ontario and 11th in Canada.

The Saints are next in action at home on Saturday, January 18th when they host Cambrian College at 1 pm.
