Cross-Country Adds Nelson

Windsor, ON – The St. Clair College Cross-Country team is pleased to announce the addition of Luke Nelson (Windsor, ON) to what is shaping up to be a quality men's squad in 2025.

The 5'10" Nelson is a St. Thomas of Villanova product and will graduate on Wednesday with honours level achievement in the classroom while he competed in track and cross-country for the Wildcats as well as with the Border City Athletics club program.  He was named the Coaches Award recipient for both cross-country and track which is a testament to his contributions at Villanova considering their strong team performances over the past few years.

Nelson had a good final year placing 11th at WECSSAA and 12th at SWOSSAA which qualified him for the OFSAA Championships in last fall's cross-country season.  He followed that up with a spring track season running to a 3rd place podium in the 3km event and was 4th in the 1500m at the WECSSAA Championships.  Nelson advanced to SWOSSAA in the 1500m where he finished 6th

St. Clair Cross-Country Head Coach Josh Zilles was elated about the commitment stating, "We are incredibly excited to announce our latest signing.  Luke is an outstanding athlete who has accomplished a lot while still being new to the sport.  Luke has a bright future with the Saints, and we look forward to seeing him rep the green and gold."

Nelson will start in St. Clair College's Border Services program academically this fall.
