Men’s Basketball Outshoot Canadore

Windsor, ON – The St. Clair College Men's Basketball team shot themselves to a convincing 120-81 win over Canadore College (North Bay) Sunday afternoon at the SportsPlex.  Early in their OCAA West Division schedule the Saints hold a 2-0 record and were rated #1 in the initial provincial rankings released last week.

ON Sunday the Saints built an early 25-22 lead over Canadore after the first quarter but held the visitors to just 11 points the rest of the half ballooning their advantage to 59-33 by the intermission.  St. Clair unloaded in the third quarter shooting 76% from the floor producing a 44-point output and a 103-61 spread heading to the final frame.  The Saints held their largest lead of 48 points midway through the fourth quarter and cruised to the easy victory as 13 of their dressed players hit the scoresheet.

St. Clair was able to control the paint outscoring Canadore 74-16 around the basket in addition to winning the war on the glass 45-30.  The Saints earned 17 more shot attempts and scored 31 points off 24 Panther turnovers.  Canadore did make 13 long balls, but St. Clair only trailed slightly in that category with 11 of their own.

Mazin Tiea (Windsor, ON/Kennedy) led seven Saints in double figures scoring 19 points and added 8 rebounds.  Darnelle Peddie (Pickering, ON) almost recorded a double-double scoring 16 points but dished out 9 assists for St. Clair as Jadon Tillman (Warren, MI) and Jacob Masters (Toronto, ON) each netted 14 points apiece.  Kyle Brown-Fazekas (Windsor, ON/Kennedy) finished with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the Saints with teammates Elijah Loder-Frame (Toronto, ON) and Ahmad Khazaleh (Windsor, ON/Kennedy) dropping in 11 and 10 points respectively.
