Men's Volleyball to Play for OCAA Bronze

Sudbury, ON- The St. Clair men's volleyball team will have to settle playing for an OCAA Bronze Medal on Sunday at the OCAA Championship. The Saints will be looking for their second OCAA medal in team history winning silver in 2015.

The Saints dropped an exciting back and forth semi-final match 3-1 to the host Cambrian Shield on Saturday night in Sudbury.

Cambrian took the first two sets by scores of 25-14 and 25-19. However, a resilient St. Clair team would not quit taking the third set 25-15. After falling down early in the 4th set the Saints came back again but ended up falling 27-25. St. Clair had two set points to force the match to a fifth and deciding set but could not put the set away.

Middle Calvin Kett (Windsor; FJ Brennan)  was named player of the game for the Saints with 4 kills, a .429 kill percentage, 6 stuff blocks and 3 digs.

The Saints will now face the Fanshawe Falcons for OCAA bronze on Sunday at 1 pm. The Falcons fell to the Humber Hawks 3-0 in the other semi-final.

The Saints and the Falcons split their 2 regular season matches in the fall semester. Fanshawe was 14-4 and tied for 2nd in the OCAA West.
